Expert Web UI Developer

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Office of Information Technology (OIT) requires one (1) highly experienced professional Information Technology Expert Web UI Developer to analyze, architect, design, develop, implement, maintain, re-engineer and troubleshoot small to moderate UI designs that impact multiple WSDOT WSF business units.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prototype and wireframe user interactions for external and internal client validation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients on product direction and design
  • Create the overall User Interface and information architecture that includes: workflow, interaction designs, page flows, and UI specifications for the WSDOT web based application.
  • Work closely with cross-department teams to assure a consistent User Experience across all Web base applications.
  • Evaluate existing user interfaces and design improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the usability of customer interactions.
  • Ensure all company branding standards are being met•Evaluate existing user interfaces and design improvements. Identify opportunities to improve the usability of customer interactions.
  • Help define and implement design criteria, guidelines, and specs; illustrate experience with industry standards and corporate visual design guidelines.
  • Understand the importance of documentation and coding standards1.2.1

The timeframe to conduct the services is anticipated to begin May 24, 2011 through November 30, 2011. The length of work assignment could be shortened or extended dependent on work requirements, estimates, progress and or funding availability during the project.

The IT Project Manager will be available Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week. Overtime and/or weekend hours could be required at times but no overtime shall be paid.

The primary location for this position is at 2901 3rd Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121.Travel will be kept at the discretion of the WSDOT Project Manager. Any travel within King County locations of Seattle will not be billable or reimbursable. Special Note: Any travel required outside of the said locations may be reimbursed at the then-current State travel rates if pre-approved in writing by the WSDOT Planning and Implementation Manager. Occasional travel to WSDOT OIT office in Olympia may be required.
